Attorney Brad Gerstman
As a leading New York State attorney, lobbyist, and communications expert, Brad Gerstman has developed a reputation for passionately advocating on behalf of his clients. With a dedication to “fighting for the small guy” Brad has taken on some of the nation’s largest businesses and government agencies to stand up for the rights of employees and members of protected classes, especially those with developmental disabilities.
Before becoming a founding partner at GerstmanSchwartz LLP, Brad began his career as a district attorney. During that time he gained substantial trial experience investigating and prosecuting violent crimes, corruption, and fraud. Since entering into private practice in 1994, Brad has handled a number of high-profile cases involving many of the largest political issues in New York state. In many of these cases, he advocated on behalf of workers and children against large governmental and corporate interests. Today, he remains dedicated to representing vulnerable employees in legal matters including sexual harassment, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, unpaid wages, whistleblower retaliation, employment agreements, severance agreements, and non-compete or non-solicitation agreements.
As an advocate for children with special needs Brad has served as both the Long Island Advocacy Chair for Autism Speaks and counsel to the Long Island Autism Coalition Board. He is also a board-member and co-founder of the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation, and was appointed by the Nassau County Legislature to serve as a member of the Nassau Health Corporation’s Board of Directors.
Brad is actively involved in the Long Island Labor and Employment Relations Association, the American Bar Association, SuperLawyers, the American Society of Legal Advocates, NELA/NY National Employment Lawyers Association Advocates for Employee Rights, and the Labor and Employment Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
In his free time, Brad enjoys competitive boxing and supports all professional New York sports teams with the exception of the Jets.
