June 21, 2013—New York, NY— The Shema Kolainu- Hear Our Voices is hosting its 11th Annual Legislative Breakfast on Tuesday, the 9th of July at 8:15 AM. This is an outstanding event that is held each year to recognize powerful, influential, and compassionate members of the community. Especially, those who have proved their dedication to learning more about, and expanding opportunities of education for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD)
This year, Brad Gerstman, Co-Founder of Gotham Government Relations & Communications, is being honored and presented with the Austim Awareness and Appreciation Award. Mr. Gerstman has exemplified his involvement in the autism community for years. He currently acts as both Co-Founder and board member of the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation, a family foundation that provides summer camp experiences to children with physical and developmental disabilities. In the past, Brad has also served as the Long Island Advocacy Chair for Autism Speaks, one of the nation’s largest autism advocacy organizations, as well as Advocacy Chair on the 2007 Long Island Walk Now for Autism Planning Committee. Furthermore, Mr. Gerstman was recently elected by the Long Island Autism Coalition Board to serve as Counsel to their organization.
The Autism Awareness and Appreciation Award being received by Mr. Gerstman at the Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices Legislative Breakfast is well deserved. Mr. Gerstman has proved that he is committed to spreading advocacy for ASD, and one day hopefully finding out enough about the cause of Autism to find a cure for the disorder.
