Brad Gerstman appeared on Long Island News12 regarding New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signing the Autism Insurance reform bill.
Mr. Gerstman was asked to join the Governor today in Albany in the Red Room for the signing ceremony of A.6305 and S.5845. Both bills are an act to amend the insurance law in relation to coverage for the screening, diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder.
The purpose is to expand health insurance that may be subject to annual deductibles, copayments and coinsurance consistent with those imposed on other benefits under the contract. It provides that the legislations shall not be constructed as limited the benefits that are available to an individual under a health insurance policy.
