Gotham Government Relations and Communications is pleased to announce that Bradley L. Gerstman has been appointed as a member of Adelphi University’s President’s Advisory Council. Mr. Gerstman is a preeminent government relations lawyer, political operative, public relations, political consultant, and lobbying professional. Licensed in the State of New York and a member of the New York State Bar since 1994, Mr. Gerstman started his career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx, appointed by the Honorable Robert T. Johnson, where he investigated corporate fraud and corruption cases and prosecuted violent crimes.
Adelphi University President Robert A. Scott established the President’s Advisory Council (PAC) in 2001 as an important resource in his pursuit of excellence in all aspects of the University. PAC members serve in an advisory role, providing feedback and counsel on important issues affecting the University, both internally and externally, to position the University and its programs to meet the changing needs of society. Through the PAC, strategic issues are explored, analyzed and evaluated from a number of perspectives. A full list of PAC members can be found here.
“I’m honored to be a member of the Advisory Council and work closely with such a visionary as Dr. Scott,” said Gerstman. “I am looking forward to working with the president and the other members of the Council in supporting Adelphi University as it continues to be an innovative leader in higher education.”
As a member of the Education Law Association and the Nassau County Bar Association’s Education Law Committee, Bradley L. Gerstman is a strong advocate for children with special needs. Brad is co-founder and board member of the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation, a family foundation that provides summer camp experiences to children with physical disabilities. Mr. Gerstman also served as the Long Island Advocacy Chair for Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism advocacy organization. Bradley was recently appointed by Governor Paterson, by nomination of Senate Leader Dean Skelos, to the Governor’s Council on Interactive Media and Child Violence. Additionally, in 2008, Brad was appointed by the Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi to chair his Autism Coalition. In addition, Mr. Gerstman was recently elected by the LI Autism Coalition Board to serve as Counsel to their influential group.
