Foundation Also Announces Two New Board Members

Garden City, New York – October 19, 2011

The Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation is proud to announce that the 2011 Annual Golf Classic, which honored Bill Lennie, President of The Home Depot Canada, was an enormous success, raising more than $150,000 to provide children with special needs the opportunity to attend summer day camps in the New York Metro and Northeast United States. More than 150 golfers, guests and volunteers came out to the event, held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Glen Head Country Club, to support the Foundation in its mission. A portion of the proceeds will also go to benefit Autism Speaks.

The Foundation is also pleased to announce that Lennie and his colleague, Joe McFarland, President – Western Division of The Home Depot, have been named to the Board of Directors as Honorary Directors. McFarland was the 2010 Annual Golf Classic Honoree.

“Bill’s participation in the 2011 Annual Golf Classic enabled the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation to continue to exceed our fundraising expectations and resulted in an incredibly successful event,” said Dan Gerstman, co-founder of the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation. “We are grateful for his involvement. We also look forward to the enthusiasm and guidance both Bill and Joe McFarland will bring to the Foundation in the years to come as members of our board, working along side our family.”

About the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation

The mission of the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation is to help fund summer camp for children with special needs residing in the New York Metropolitan Area and Northeast United States. The Foundation, which was formed in 2003, partners with established, accredited not–for–profit camps. It provides funds to the camps, which, in turn, provide partial and full scholarships to families in need. All camps provide fully integrated environments, which allow the children with special needs to enjoy swimming, tennis, arts and crafts, group sports activities, and field trips along with the general camp populations.
